Our goal is to provide an active, trusted, online book marketplace with:

  • A Seller Code of Ethics to assure buyer confidence

  • Membership requirements that sellers and buyers confirm their identity

  • Clearly defined book identification and grading standards

  • Powerful browse and search features not available on any other book site

  • Reasonable fees and commissions

  • Fast, easy-to-use listing forms

An internet marketplace with a higher standard . . .

patterned after the famous AB Bookman's Weekly® format
and designed to protect buyers and sellers.

Collectors Book Auction and Collectors Book Mart are closely matched sister sites, using many of the same unique features, including our directory-style category structure, special icons, and easy-to-browse title/icon format.   Each is designed to give users a choice of how they list and buy books. The Auction is open to any seller who will confirm their identify and guarantee their descriptions. Mart listings are restricted to verified sellers and the minimum selling price for an item is $10.

.Discussion Forums - Discuss anything about the site

Unique Combined Search feature: Enter a title, author, or keyword and view all the matching results from the Auction, the Mart, and the Forums.

TitleFinder Forum to find help identifying the title you can't remember.  Post your inquiry or help others and make a sale.

Books Wanted:  You'll only find serious book wants here . . .
these Book Wanted ads and reverse auctions cost money.
  • All sellers must declare a grading standard for each listing*
 ABBookman Grading Scale
 Antique Trader Grading Scale
 IOBA Grading Scale
Other AB Bookman Approved Grading Scale
  • All declared "First Printings" must be referenced by an approved identification guide (Zempel, McBride, etc.)
  • All "Autographed" items must include a photo or scan of the autograph and a "Statement of Provenance"**
  • Any book misdescribed, either accidentally or negligently, must be accepted for a full refund including postage
    (see our seller guarantee policy)
  • There is a link at the bottom of every page for users to "Report Error", which includes reporting a suspected misdescribed (or miscategorized) book.

*The system remembers your selection and offers it as the default choice on subsequent listings to speed up the listing process
**A Statement of Provenance is simply a declaration of what is known about the authenticity of the signature ("signed in my presence at XYZ bookstore").  This statement will allow the potential buyer to make a considered decision about the risk they are willing to take on it being a forgery or "light boxed" signature, which is a growing problem on other sites.
