By offering an Early or First Bid Discount, you encourage
potential bidders to bid early on your item, which in turn attracts the
attention of other bidders.
When you choose one of the options, you item will have the
icon next
to it's Auction title listing and on it's
View item
description page. This icon is visible to all users until 24 hours prior to the scheduled
closing time of the auction (if the buyer waits until the last day to
bid, they will not receive the discount). This icon always remains
visible to the seller and will be visible to the winning bidder after
the auction closes.
The Early Bid Discount is given to
any Winning Bid placed at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled close of
the auction.
The First Bid Discount is given to the winning
bidder if the First Bid placed on the item wins the auction.
The First Bid Discount encourages bidders to
bid their maximum amount as early as possible.
The only times when an Early Bidder and/or First Bid Discount
offer can be selected is when the auctioneer creates the auction or when
they relist the auction.
Early Bid Discount Rules:
The winning bid must be placed at least 24 hours before the item
is scheduled to end to qualify the discount.
The Early Bid Discount does not apply to items bought using
the Purchase Now option.
The early bidder receives the discount if they win the auction,
even if their first bid is not the winning bid, as long as the winning
bid is placed 24 hours prior to the auction's scheduled close (if they are
outbid and they place additional bids 24 hours prior to the scheduled
close).
The Early Bid Discount does apply to reserve auctions,
as long as the winning bid is placed 24 hours prior to the scheduled
closing time, the bidder wins the auction, and the reserve is met.

automatically removed 24 hours prior to the auction's scheduled closing.
Sellers should use the Bid History link on their item listing to
determine if the winning bidder qualifies for the discount.
Buyers are responsible for claiming their discount if the seller
forgets to offer it in the end-of-auction payment terms.
First Bid Discount Rules:
The first bid must be placed at least 24 hours before the item
is scheduled to end to qualify the discount.
The First Bid Discount does not apply to items bought using
the Purchase Now option.
The first bidder receives the First Bid Discount if they win
the auction with their first bid (if they win the auction on
subsequent bids, they can still qualify for the Early Bidder Discount
The First Bid Discount does apply to reserve auctions, as
long as the first bid wins the auction and meets the reserve.
