Publication Date
Enter the year your book was
published (not the copyright date). This field is specifically
for the search and browse function and it is limited to 4 numbers.
If your item has a multiple year pub date (1989-90), enter the later
date in this field, and then put the hyphenated date in your
description. If you book does not have a date, you can enter
a "circa" (about) date here, but you must always define the pub date as
"circa" in the description.
Books: The year in
which a book is published or first becomes available for purchase or
distribution, generally found on the bottom of the title page. The
publication date can vary from the copyright date, so if there are
multiple dates, be sure to use the latest one.
Periodicals: The day, month, or year when a
periodical is issued.
Note: If the exact date is unknown, an approximate
date may be used by prefacing the date with
ca the abbreviation for circa, which means "about" (Avoid
using c alone to abbreviate circa,
c can also be used to abbreviate
copyright and may cause confusion).
