A: CollectorStores are unique web pages within Collectors Book Market sellers can
customize to create their own "website" without any HTML or programming
knowledge and with nothing else to buy.
- Your CollectorStore listings will also be included in Collectors Book Market along
with all the listings from all other sellers.
- CollectorStores are FREE during this introductory period at Collectors Book Market.
- Collectors Book Market hosts and maintains your site - No additional fees, no software to purchase or install.
- We build your CollectorStore for you (at no cost during this introductory period).
- Completely customizable, there are no pre-packaged formats you have to use.
- You choose everything; layout, colors, images, logos, links, and content.
- Link to your existing website, your listings on another site, or your online auctions.
- Additional pages available for special content, newsletters, etc.
- Buyers can "Quick Search" your listings only from your
CollectorStore, or search
all the Collectors Book Market items.
2: How is Collectors Book Market different from other
sites?
A: Collectors Book Market is a niche market site built for people
interested in collectible and antiquarian merchandise and information. We don't expect (or
want) sellers to list all their items, just those that will appeal to our
focused market.

3: What are the fees?
A: There are NO fees for anything during the introductory period.
Subscription rates for CollectorStores may be implemented once the introductory period
is over, but this decision will be made with consideration of site
traffic/seller satisfaction and only upon consultation with our members.
Planned fees for Collectors Book Market are per-item listing fees and listing
enhancement fees (bold, highlight, featured, homepage featured). No
commission or final value fees are planned because all transactions are direct
between the buyer and seller, we don't get involved unless there is a
problem. This keeps our overhead low.We encourage sellers to direct
buyers to their own site, to other venues, or to have the buyer contact them by
phone to complete the sale. Buyers do not have to register with our site to
purchase your item. Our strategy is to provide sellers with a venue
where they can individually advertise their books or book related items for up
to 90 days for one simple listing fee (plus any optional listing enhancement fee
they choose). Regardless of where and how the sale takes place, the ad
worked and the seller will hopefully list more items.

Q5: Can I bulk upload my records from a book inventory program?
A: Yes. However, remember that Collectors Book Market is structurally
different from other fixed-price book selling sites. The Per Item
listing format is more similar to eBay than to the format at ABEbooks.com or
Alibris.com, and there are a few unique fields in our system that enable our
powerful search and browse features. Our simple bulk upload process uses a
"staging area" to give sellers the option to quickly edit their listings
to take advantage of our special fields and to upload images. Otherwise,
all existing field content in your inventory system is automatically mapped into
the appropriate fields in our system, and sellers can simply "post" their staged
listings individually or as a group if they don't want to edit them.
Sellers can also batch their listings grouped by subject to quickly insert their
items into our special book category structure.
Note: Collectors Book Market strongly recommends sellers use our simple
image upload form (you can have up to five free images per listing) in the
staging area to take advantage of our visual browsing format. All uploaded
images automatically create the large, clear-resolution thumbnail images that
distinguish Collectors Book Market from other sites.

Q6: Can my CollectorStore have its own domain name?
A: Yes. If you already have a domain name, then we can "redirect" it to
you CollectorStore homepage. If you don't have a domain name, then Niche Market
Solutions can help register a domain name for you.
Q7: How long does it take to open my
CollectorStore?
A: The actual set-up time can be as little as one hour depending on how
much custom content you want. The first step is to register at Collectors
Book Market (it's fast and free, no credit card required), then post at least
one listing to put into your CollectorStore. Next, contact the administrator to
discuss your CollectorStore content and make arrangements to provide the necessary
copy, images, and/or logos (custom logo and graphic design is available for a
small hourly charge). Once the administrator has your content, your
site will be built as soon as the appropriate block of time is available
(usually within one or two days).
Q8: What kind of content can I put in my
CollectorStore?
A: Within reason, just about anything.
- Information about you and/or your business
- Logos
- Images and graphics
- Links to your website or listings on other sites
- Your email address
- Your shipping, payment, and return policies
- Your other internet or business services
- Pictures of you, your kids, or even your pets.
What you can't put in your CollectorStore:
- Illegal or copyright infringement items
- Pornographic material
- Gambling or pyramid scheme solicitations.
- Items not in your physical possession (no third party sellers)
- Malicious code or links to sites that install spyware, adware, or other
intrusive or destructive programs
Q4: How can I make changes to my
CollectorStore?
A: Once your CollectorStore is active, you can edit the content at any
time by using the Edit my CollectorStore button at the top of your
CollectorStore page (this button is only visible to the CollectorStore owner and
only when they are logged in)..
Q4: How much computer knowledge is required?
A: No special computer knowledge is required beyond basic computer skills and being able to access the Internet.
Q1: What types of payments can I accept through my
CollectorStore?
A: Whatever payments you normally accept for your merchandise. All
transactions are direct between the buyer and seller, we don't get involved
unless there is a problem. If you direct your buyer to another site, they
use the payment options available there.
Q2: Do you process transaction credit card payments
for sellers?
A: No. In order to keep our overhead as low as possible, we do not
get involved in the individual transactions between buyers and sellers. We
do, however, process credit card payments from sellers who chose that
option to pay their seller fees, but this information is encrypted and stored on
our secure server, and never given out to anyone for any reason. See our
