Bay Area Book Artists is a group of independent artists bound together by a passion for the book arts. The group meets twice monthly. On the first Sunday of each month we meet for four hours for share studio time and for mini-workshops or demonstrations run by members. On the third Thursday of each month we meet to plan events, exchange information and share books in-progress. Since 1995, BABA has presented exhibitions at local galleries and museums. In 2002 BABA members organized the first Book Arts Jam at Foothill College. This event has entertained and educated the public each year since. BABA welcomes new members.

Optos Books is a resource for art, architecture and design books, with a modernist bent and an eye for the unusual. We offer out-of-print, rare and hard to find books on the history of modern design and the decorative arts. Our focus is on the visual, exploring the roots of modernism in architecture, industrial design, interior design, photography, graphic design (typography, book arts & printing), illustration and modern fine art (with emphasis on the period from Late Victorian to the mid-twentieth century). In addition we offer books on New York City (specifically, ones that are strongly visual in format); illustrated humor (concentrating on illustrators who contributed to the New Yorker Magazine); a category dubbed Odds & Sods (usually smaller tomes, chosen for no other reason than we couldn’t resist!). In addition to our books on design, we list related ephemera and trade catalogs.

Welcome to Kuenzig Books! My wife and I live in a 300 year old house north of Boston. It is a house with CHARACTER, meaning that it breaks down regularly, but hopefully less often than we do. My wife grew up in New York City and thinks we are in the sticks, but since we have indoor plumbing, I think we're really quite civilized!
We are most excited about science and technology related books. It is because we graduated from a small technical school down the road from Harvard.
My interest in science and technology comes from living with it most of my life in the "real world". My interest started very early with sessions looking through an old brass microscope owned by my mother's Aunt - a doctor when it wasn't fashionable to be a woman doctor. I've since always been fascinated by mechanical devices (hence dealing in scientific instruments), and the advancements of science that have really affected the way we live.

The tradition of fine printing at Gregynog, begun in 1922, continues to this day: the use of time-honoured techniques creates a harmony of art and craft in fine book production. In addition to the constant flow of beautifully created volumes in both the Welsh and English languages that it has generated over the decades, Gwasg Gregynog has contributed to the highlights of Welsh life and culture.

We specialize in vintage computing books, manuals, journals, references, documentation and more -- from ENIAC to IBM, from the era of vacuum tubes, to the transistor, to microprocessors; from punched cards to early personal computers.
If you are interested in the history of computing, we invite you to browse our ever-changing inventory. We have books covering many aspects of computer science, engineering and mathematics relating to computation -- including the history of programming, older programming languages, operating systems, information theory, biographies of the companies and people who were computer pioneers, electroacoustic and computer music items, and much more. Most of our items cover the period from the 1930's through the early 1980's, but we have some earlier (and some later!) items.
Whether you are a collector of highspots in the history of computing, or a classic computing hobbyist looking for an original user's manual, or an engineer seeking an older reference book, we invite you to explore our shelves.

Hand Papermaking magazine was founded in 1986 by Amanda Degener and Michael Durgin. Two issues of the magazine have been published every year since, resulting in a unique repository of information and inspiration on the art and craft of hand papermaking. Each issue features articles on a variety of topics within the field, including: contemporary artistic approaches, craft techniques, historical topics and reference, international development, and educational initiatives. Articles are written by experts in the field, many of them practitioners, and each magazine includes at least one unique sample of handmade paper.

Welcome to The Prints & The Paper. Some of our specialties include Agriculture, Transportation (Railroad, Aviation, Nautical), Technical Books, Americana, Art, Photography, Ephemera, First Edition Modern Poetry, and Natural History, but you will find books in many other categories as well.
The Prints & The Paper is a modest, mostly home-based business. It is run, in fact, by ye cataloger, Lee (spousal unit Gary maintains he is the 'fetcher and toter' of the team). My catalog entries often include some wry commentary and humble personal opinions, which some folks find amusing and no doubt others think annoying. Take a look at some of them and judge for yourself!
We're a bit quirky, but never stuffy or elitist. Your questions, queries, and orders will be answered in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner. E-mail inquiries are easiest for us to deal with, but hey -- do what works for you. We are adamant in preserving the ethics and standards of the traditional bookselling trade. Our packing is superior and our shipping is prompt. Our greatest asset is our customers and we try to provide the very best in personal and professional customer service.

Just what the world needs: Another blog. Hopefully, it won't be just "another" blog, but one that will have stuff at least one other person will think interesting. First of all, I collect books, and that will be the general gist of this blog. And probably whatever else I think is neat. Don't worry, it usually comes back to books. I collect in several areas: 19th Century Book Trade (especially in the Western US), Bookbinding, Letterpress Printing, Book Collectors, Bibliomysteries, the Modern Library Series (yes, I'm a longtime modernlib.com member), and stuff for work. I work for a big museum, so I have books for there too. I like old museum theory stuff too. Every once in a while I also sell books. What book collector these days doesn't? Anyway, I may occasionally post the more interesting stuff I come across as it goes to ebay.

Amanda is a Brisbane artist specializing in artists books. She blogs regularly, sharing detailed information about the methods she uses making her artwork. She hopes to encourage and help readers with their art through her blog. She welcomes enquiries by email regarding techniques she has posted, as well as the purchase of her artists books.

In 2008 she completed a Masters of Fine Art through RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, in which she explored the idea of change as a central theme in life, through installations and artists books. Prior to this she studied ceramics at Southbank TAFE in Brisbane, winning the Craft Queensland Prize on graduation.

Her artworks include artists’ books, installations, photographs and prints. Her background working with clay has resulted in an affinity for the materiality of various media, including unfired clay, porcelain, wax and paper. She has participated in exhibitions up and down the Australian eastern seaboard, and her work is held in both private and public collections nationally.
