Seller Catalog/Promotion/Reference No.

This field can be used by the seller for a variety of functions.  The significance of any catalog or promotion should be explained in the description field of each of the seller's listings: "Search my Christmas Gift catalog" or "Save on shipping with my January Clearance items".
  • Catalog Number - Seller's can group selected items (auctions and/or Mart items) to help buyers locate similar items for sale by the seller.  This allows sellers to direct their customers to other items they might be interested in that are located in different categories or different venues.  Examples:  Christmas, Chicago Interest, New England, Silhouette Illustrations, etc.
  • Seller Designated Categories - Sellers can use this field to create their own categories, or to flag items with strong keyword interest.  Buyers can restrict this field to a single seller or they can just search this field value alone using generic catalog keywords such as "Christmas" or  "illustration" and look for matching results from all sellers who used that keyword for this field value.
  • Promotional Code - Sellers can group items for special offers such as "free shipping" or "January Clearance".  Promotions can be conditional on multiple purchases if clearly stated in the description field for each item included: "Search for my other January Clearance Catalog items using the Seller Catalog/Promotion field, and get 50% off the shipping total for all January Clearance items shipped at the same time".
  • Reference Number - Sellers can add their own item or reference numbers to help them quickly identify the storage location or any other designation they have for their items.
  • Combination - combine any of the above.
