Special
Collectors Book Market Fields
Collectors Book Market offers buyers (and sellers) unique and powerful ways to
search and
browse not found on any
other book sites. To take advantage of these advanced search and
browse functions, sellers simply choose standardized
field values from a
few form boxes, checkboxes, and drop-down options to allow the system to
identify and return their item in the results when buyers search or
browse for items with matching criteria.
Note: all of these selections are optional, sellers can simply
place all their item information in the description field as it is
usually done on other sites and buyers will still be able to search
for your item in the same manner they do on those other sites, but
they will not receive the advantages built into our system.
Sellers need only accept the default "undeclared" value for these
fields and buyers can choose to include or not include items with that
undeclared value in their search or browse request.
We are booksellers, and we know that the time spent listing an item
is valuable, so we have made the process of entering the extra
information required as quick and easy as possible. In some ways,
our system can speed up the entry of book identification data because
the one or two click field value selection process can eliminate the
need to put this information in the description field*.
Additionally, when sellers use our title, author, publisher, pub date,
and condition fields, these values are auto-inserted into the ad or
auction title to save the effort of typing them in again. Sellers
can then copy and paste this information into the description field if
they want to use it as part of their description.
Here are the most important (optional) Collectors Book Market standardized
fields and their values:
*Sellers are encouraged to provide full and complete descriptions for
all items, however, so if the field value selection is only partially
correct or it is too general, more specific information should always be
placed in the description field. An example would be the
Novelty/Other binding field, which allows buyers to include or not
include that value in their search or browse results, while the seller
should put the specific binding type in the description. |
